hello all,

Does anyone know where to check on an s8300 media gateway to find the uplink port speed. We have two new sites with two new gateways in each. Last week we decided that it was time to upgrade the cisco switch that my main dual s8700's sits on. Well after a week of bad voip (one call allowed per network region) and losing our com-pro link to the audix, we found that our network team put all clan's and medpro's to auto not 100 full on the new cisco 2960 switch. So now i want to check all of our other sites but mostly my two new ones. The two new sites lose conection to the main server alot(2 times a week) and this is the first logical place to look considering the clan that these sites regester to have other gateways hanging off of them with no problems.
I would be thankfull for any help.

thanks.

telnet into the stack (or use the console cable) and do show port, you should see the 2 LAN ports

you can do a "set port speed 1/1 100MB" to set this to 100MB

Ask the Cisco people to check their config first though because I have had problems with the new 2960 switches on installs, they need auto-loopback to be enabled on an individual port basis

i know this sounds stupid but, do i need the DADMIN login to do the show port command. or are you refering to communication manager interface? Its still early and i have not had enough coffee yet. Sorry. And thanks for yor reply.

If using telnet you will want to connect to the IP address of your P330 device built into the G700.
