Hi folks. Currently our main incoming number (xxx-xxx-6200) is a POTS line that is part of a hunt group with 2 other lines. All incoming calls go to the Auto Attendant. I will be switching PRI carriers in the near future and was thinking about eliminating the POTS lines. Is it possible to port the 6200 pots line to the PRI and program it to go the the Auto Attendant?
Thanks!

Yes, you can "port" your main number over to the PRI. To send the call to the Automated Attendant, you need to do one of two things. Either request that the telephone company send 770 (in lieu of 200) or simply use the digit translation table to strip all digits sent and replace it with 770. Voicemail knows the difference between inside and outside calls.

However, you may want to consider that if you have no pots lines in the system, and the PRI dies (for whatever reason) how can remote trouble shooting be done? (It can't)

Therefore I always recommend at least one POTS line that can be used for that purpose, just in case.

Thanks for the replies. I will definitely be keeping a few pots line (thanks for the recommendation). As far as the digit translation table....I'm having a tough time dumbing my way through the SPM to find out were to program that in. Can you direct me to the correct menu?

Two other options:

Renumber Calling Group 770 to 200 and calls will hit the auto attendant. Users will dial 200 to get their voicemail messages, but if they already have a button to dial 770, that will automatically change itself to dial 200 instead.

Or, renumber an adjunct to 200, put it in the Voicemail Coverage Group, and create Mailbox 200 pointing to the Auto Attendant.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was able to dumb my way through after printing the PRI info. Thanks again.
