Folks,

RedHat 8.0
Sendmail 8.12

Here's the scenario: I have setup a domain through a well known DynDNS provider and my domain works fine, that is I can go to without a hitch even when my IP changes. Great. The problem is my mail. I can telnet to every port on my machine and I see the packets coming into my firewall using tcpdump EXCEPT for port 25. I even shutdown my firewall and I get the same thing. Whenever I try and telnet to a port that doesn't exist or is not being monitored I get a message saying "tcp port XX is unreachable" EXCEPT this freakin port 25, I get NADA.

I can send mail out no problem and can even get my email from my service provider through smtp.

I'm really puzzled on this one.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Kevin

DAEMON_OPTIONS(`port=smtp, addr=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, Name=MTA')

What happens when you add the above to your sendmail.mc
Obviuosly xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx will be replaced by you servers address.

Rhinokiller,

Thanks for the reply. I can't add my IP to my sendmail.cf file because it is dynamic. However I think I have narrowed it down to my ISP filtering in coming connections on port 25. I originally didn't think this was the case but with further investigation I think it is.

Thanks again for your help.

Kevin
