Populate listbox

I was wondering if anybody can show me how to populate an already populated listbox without losing the already existing data?
I have a listbox with some values in it that can from a database and wanted to add to it some more values, without losing the existing values, and then call a procedure to add the new values to the database.
Did that make sense???
