POP3 Connector Issue 1

I am currently running an SBS2003 server running Exchange by downloading messages from our externally hosted mail server using the POP3 Connector but we are having problems receiving incoming mails to our local client, Outlook 2007.

When logging in our external mail server through webmail, messages can be seen in our inbox, but upon executing a manual download on our SBS POP3 connector, the messages disappear from our external mail server (as though they have been downloaded to Exchange) but subsequently do not appear in our clients at all!

Internal mails and sending out via our smarthost (ie. our external mail server) is working fine, but incoming emails is proving to be frustrating!

Any help would be appreciated - hope I made sense!

Can you first of all use OWA to see if they emails show here?

To answer both of your responses, no, the messages are not showing up in OWA and having followed some of the MS instructions so far, I have discovered that it is a problem with the SMTP service as the messages are appearing in the PickUp folder.

Will keep investigating and will update accordingly, thanks for the replies.

The recommendation of setting a new recipient policy to cover the POP3 domain seems to have resolved the issue. Will obviously keep my eye on it accordingly over the next few days and make sure it is working as it should. Currently I am using Outlook 2003 to test but I did have Outlook 2007 and thought it could have been an issue syncing with SBS 2003, but will give it a couple of days before re-installing MS Office 2007.
