I have an Exchange server 5.5 that has the pop3 and imap protocols enabled. I have created a mailbox on the server and linked it to an NT account, and made sure that the pop3 and imap protocos are also enabled.
Then when I come to configure Outlook Express, I create a mail account and on the Servers tab I enter info as follows:
Incoming Mail (POP3): mail.mydomain.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP): mail.mydomain.com
Account name : user name created above
Password : password created above
When I try to send and receive mail, I just get the "Please enter your user name and password for the following server" dialog box repeated. When I finally cancel this I get the following error message.
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'Test', Server: 'mail.mydomain.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Access denied', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
The message appears to be saying that there is something wrong with the password, but I know the password is fine. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanx
Gary
