Hello,

I have a windows xp home client running outlook 2000.
I tried to configure the exchange server, but it asks for username / domain / password.

When I enter this information it rejects, please check username and domain.

All details are correct. I dont know why it is rejecting.

As a workaround, I tried to setup the client to retrieve email via POP3, so I started the POP3 services on my eschange server 2003, and checked port settings (default).

I configured the same client to use POP3 with the correct credentials, but it wont log onto the pop3 server to send a test message.

I am very confused. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks In advance.

I think the issue is XP Home will not work on corporate(domain) networks. It will work on home(workgroup) networks. The POP3 issue is most likely the profile in outlook needs to removed and start over with an internet POP3 setup.

is your network login and email alias different? then try domain/login/alias as your username.
