Can it be done? Probably
Are there instructions? Good Luck
Is it supported by Mitel? Almost definitely not.
I just went thru the same pain trying to get a Polycom IP4000 running.
Here are the steps as I remember them.
- on 3300 create generic SIP phone
*** I had to use a blank passcode ***
- On Polycoms Website
- Download latest bootfile and SIP file
- Download Documentation for installation
- FTP Server (On laptop if possible)
- Setup bootfiles etc for download to polycom set
- On Polycom Set (for the first one anyway)
- statically assign IP
- statically assign FTP Setting
- Use crossover cable to connect to FTP Server
- Save settings on Polycom and pray.
- On successful load of files (lots of luck)
- Access web page of set.
- Set extension to value set in 3300
- connect to Network and Pray
If you are successful to this point you may want to try
- Setting up DHCP for IP address, VLAN, and Time
- Locate config file on FTP server and edit for remaining sets (This file delivers the values set in the web page and is named with the MAC address of the set XXXXXXX.cfg or some such)
I am probably missing about 20 steps but the above with some documentation and a little luck will get you close.
