I have a Polycom Soundstation 2 conference phone. I can dial out from it and dial in to it but when i click on the phone icon on the phone and dial out. I don't hear a dial tone. There is no sound coming from it at all. I checked the volume and it's all the way up. I would like a dial tone noise so when people dial out they know that it's working.

I'll bet that's a setting on the Polycom, try using a standard handset on that extn it will give dialtone, in short it's not the IP Office at fault :)

Or possibly that port is set to auto dial a prefix for you and the ARS form is not set to give secondary dial tone, you could check that :)

I tried looking through the settings on the Polycom and didn't see anything related to a dial tone other than the volume control.

Your second response, where would I check this at?

In the ARS tab at the bottom left of Manager, only there on 4+ firmware though :)

Yeah I don't have that tab :) shoot......

Try an analog handset, you could be chasing your tail until you prove where the issue lies :)

I asked one of our local phone specialist here in town and he said it has something to do with a secondary dial tone option under the Line tab. I am trying this now......

I haven't tried it yet. When you mean Analog handset do you mean like try a cell phone?

Ah gotcha. I don't have one with me so I will probably have to bring one from home. Thanks for the help everyone!
