I have created a sip extension and configured a Policom SoundPoint IP 320 phone to connect to the Mx-One gatekeeper. I can dial the SIP phone from an Dialog 4425 phone (h323) and the sound works both ways. But I can't set up a call from the polycom phone...

Do I have to make an entry in /etc/opt/eri_sn/ip_telephony.conf to be able to use Polycom SIP equipment? I can see that there is on for Polycom SoundStation 4000:

UserAgent:polycom-SSIP4000:Name: "PolycomSoundStationIP-SSIP_4000"
UserAgent:polycom-SSIP4000:EarlyReplaces: no

yes.
make a wireshark trace to see the correct user-agent string and add it into ip_telephony.conf file.
you need to RELOAD SIPLP unit after changing this file to activate the changes.

Hi,

I have done a wireshark capture it looks like this:
User-Agent: PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP-UA/3.0.4.0061

I added these lines to the file:

UserAgent:polycom-SPIP320:Name: "PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP_320"
UserAgent:polycom-SPIP320:EarlyReplaces: no

But it still doesn't work.

I also tried with:
UserAgent:polycom-SPIP320:Name: "PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP_320-UA/3.0.4.0061"

Which is the correct syntax? I get a busy tone.

Hi,

If I take a trace of the traffic I can see that:
1. phone sends a REQUEST/INVITE to the Mx-One.
2. Mx-One responds with Status: 100 Trying.
3. Mx-One responds with Status: 403 Forbidden
4. Phone responds with an ACK.

Is there something else that needs to be configured? Something that i have missed?

I am a bit confused.

what is the correct UA string you get from the trace?

PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP-UA/3.0.4.0061I or
PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP_320-UA/3.0.4.0061 ??

Hi!

I get: PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP_320-UA/3.0.4.0061

then the entry should be:

UserAgent:polycom-SPIP320:Name: "PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP_320-UA/3.0.4.0061"
UserAgent:polycom-SPIP320:EarlyReplaces: no

Is there something else that I need to do. Because it doesn't work. I can't set up a call from the polycom device to the 4425 dialog phone.
I can see this (in the trace):
1. phone sends a REQUEST/INVITE to the Mx-One.
2. Mx-One responds with Status: 100 Trying.
3. Mx-One responds with Status: 403 Forbidden

Is there something else that I need to do?

did you relaod the SIPLP program unit after changing this file??
