We have a Polycom IP 7000 up and working great we have purchased a 2nd one and I've used the same configuration of the first on the second but cannot get it to register. When I look in the 3300 logs I am seeing the following error ftpDaemon
Description: Access denied to user PlcmSpIp with invalid password from 10.76.128.171:1083 . the number I am trying to register is 1830 I have confirmed the password is 1830 both on the 3300 and the polycom any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What load of software?

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

9.0.2.18. We have found some options on the polycom that are not available through the web interface, and are looking at those.

the log entry you quoted is the Polycom looking for configuration files or maybe firmware, via FTP,

ftpDaemon being the FTP server in the Mitel
FTP being file transfer protocol

where it says: 10.76.128.171:1083
1083 is the TCP port number, not an extension or anything

so this log message can probably be ignored, it is likely other configuration issues causing the problem

Is the Polycom looking to the 3300 for firmware updates?

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

We fianlly got it working. We used the web interface and thought that was all we had to do. After not being able to get it to work we took this polycom and compared settings with the working polycom from the polycom itself not the web interface and found a entry for a password that was configured in the web interface. As sonn as we entered that pass word on the ploycom it started working.

Gentlemen, I am installing several of these (7000's and 5000's) and I am just trying to find some type of programming guide for the Polycom that makes sense. I tried to use the Mitel guide (SIP CoE 08-5159-00020) but once it started referring to changing the config files, I got lost. Is there something that breaks it down a little? I have a pretty good technicial and network background but the instructions in this guide felt way over my head...

Thank you for any advise and/or help.
