Hello,
I am new to Mitel. I am trying to add a Polycom CX5500 to the system but I keep getting one way audio from the CX5500 to my 6920 desk phone. No audio coming out the CX5500. I do have working Polycom Trio 8800's on the system. I copied the config from one working extension to a new one that I created for the CX5500. I am also experiencing a dialing issue that I can call the CX5500 from my desk phone, but I can't dial out from the Polycom. I did copy the dial string info from a working polycom to the CX5500 with the web interface. Any ideas?

Is the cx5500 getting into the same subnet/vlan as the 6920? With MiVB, set to set creates its own direct path and one way audio is often caused by a networking/routing issue

I do have the CX5500 statically set to the voice vlan. I also checked with our network engineer to see if there was any kind of firewall issue, he told me that with it all on the same vlan, it never even goes to the firewall.

Additional thinking this through, the device did profile properly in our Cisco ISE software and we have other polycom devices functioning (Trio 8800). I think I must be missing something in the Mitel programming or/and a setting in the Polycom CX5500.

Might check the codecs that the Polycom is using and remove most, leave Mu711 and see if this works.

IT WORKED!!! Even though Mu711 was in the codec list, there must have been too many options and it was grabbing the wrong one. Removed all but Mu711 and it works perfect now.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Since I don;t know off the top of my head what this Polycom device is, you might want to check lines available and calls per line. Calls per line should be 1 and number of line depends upon multicall keys in the MCD programming

That's a great thought. I only have it set up for one line currently. I have multiple 8 person bridges as well as the AWV for users that want to have a conference call. It would be nice to have at least 4 lines on the device for a simple meeting with a few people calling in to the room directly. I will play with it, see how it goes and post the results.

Well I have tried every combination of Lines and line keys on the polycom as well as having additional keys programmed for line appearances in the MVB set to Multicall. The CX5500 does not seem to be able to join more that two calls to create a 3 party conference. Doesn't make sense when the default is to have 24 calls per line on the Polycom and not be able to join them together. When I call the CX5500 from three outside lines, the first one answers normally, the second call will give me a softkey with the option to Join the calls, and the third call just comes in and puts the first two on hold. There is no option to join the third call to the first two. Any thoughts?

That might be a feature not a fault
from 7000 technical Guide for MCD
The Polycom 7000 is limited to initiate a 3 party conference and is unable to add a 4th party.
Recommendation: To add 4 or more parties to a conference, theconferencing capabilities of the MCD will need to be used.
Change to System Based incall features in the SIP Device Capabilities form.

The 24 line conference you refer to might be based on a non mitel SIP provider

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
