G'day all,

Was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to help us.
We have a SV8100 in the field with a Polycom SLT Conference phone. The client has requested the ability to be in a functioning conference call and to invite an outside caller into the conversation. So a customer could call the DID of the phone and be directly invited into the conversation.

Is their any way of accomplishing this?

Thanks for any assistance in advance,
Chalky.

With the G'day my betting is the best answer is a Telstra conference call would be the answer. I am not fully conversant with the 8100 (more an IPS and older sort of person) but I am not sure there is a feature where a DID can barge in to an established call! It may be possible using DISA but that would be a security nightmare!

However there are people better versed in the 8100 here who may well prove me wrong!

the thing to bear in mind here is that the Polycom is essentially an analog station, which as your description notes, is an SLT - single line telephone. Nothing on the PBX would allow auto answer/merge of the calls.

the most basic funtionality may be call waiting.

what is really required is a conferencing system, either hosted or on premise. This way, calls to a DID are answered with a request to enter a conference meeting room number, with the audio mixing done external to the PBX.
