I created a PRI on my Cisco router and connected it to my PRI card in my Meridian Option 11c. Point to Point. I can now dial access code 8888 on my phone which is connected to my pbx and it transfer me to the cisco. Which is what i want to do. But now i need my pbx to recongize the 10 digit dialing instead of just the 4 digit that my pbx is configured for. I was told this conversion would be changed in LD 49. Can anyone gimme some advice. Also if anyone has a print out of what LD 49 looks like. I've never had to make changes in there before.

Basically this is what i want. the cisco is 571-xxx-xxxx and the pbx is 703-yyy-yyyy. Can i use one of the TN's off the PBX to punch down a phone for 571-xxx-xxxx?

Yes, i am very lost.
thanks,
Jim

OK. This is not that hard. Just a little confusing.

Is 8888 the ACOD on the Route? If so, you can set AC2 for a shorter ACOD

LD 86
...
AC1 9
AC2 84 <--- this is what you look for. Set AC2 here
DLTN YES
ERWT YES...

Next, if you are programming specific numbers to be routed through your Cisco box, then you can set up new BARS/NARS routing in LD 90 to access your Cisco route when your new AC2 is programmed.

example

LD 90

Req: New
Cust: 0
Feat: net
Tran: AC2..then you just program the same way as you would AC1...this way all these called numbers will route over your Cisco box.

Now. To set up a phone so that if someone calls 571-222-1234. The calls will go to telephone set DN 5678.

First you need to see if you have IDC tables in your PBX.
Check your packages in Ld 22.

Req: Prt
Type: pkg look for package 113 (Incoming Digit Conversion)

If you have this look in LD 21

REQ: PRT
TYPE: FCR
TYPE FCR_DATA
CUST
TYPE FCR_DATA
There is other stuff, but look for this:
IDCA YES <---
DCMX 10 <---

If you don't have this set and you have the 113 pkg, just set this up in LD 15.

Once this is done you can go into LD 49 and create an IDC table.

You will need to know what the Cisco box is sending over the PRI. This way you can adjust the IDC Table

First

LD 49

req: new
type: idc
cust: 0
dcno: 1
idgt: XXXX<--XXXX is the number that the cisco box is sending your, for phone 5678

XXXX 5678<---your number will pop up and just put the extension of the phone set.

idgt: This will allow for multiple entries without having to start over.

THEN. you are not done yes

Go to LD 16 and you will need to add this IDC table to your Cisco Route.

req: chg
type: rdb yada..yada..yada..

look for prompt
IDC YES <---yes you want an idc table associated with route
DCNO 5 *<--idc table number
NDNO 5 <---night idc table number

Not difficult by any means, just a few things that need to be added or changed.

Thanks for the help, i'm getting there but still have a few questions.

Now. To set up a phone so that if someone calls 571-222-1234. The calls will go to telephone set DN 5678.

.-----I setup idca to yes in ld 15.

Then i went to LD 49. New at ld49 so i just wanna be carefull.
I began to create an IDC table and but when i got to idgt, i got lost. the cisco router is sending over a 10 digit number. and our pbx needs to translate these to a 4 digit dn on our side. how does one do that? will it accept the command

req: new
type: idc
cust: 0
dcno: 1
idgt: 571-222-1234 5678

and if so, can i do this muliple times like so.

idgt: 571-222-1234 5678
idgt: 571-222-1235 5679

thanks,
Jim

Yes, but don't put in the dash "-" just the 10 digit number coming across the span.

You are on the right track....keep going

John

thanks, you have been a great help. i'm almost there. I have everything setup. the cisco is no longer sending it as a 10 digit. they are now sending it as a 4 digit so i changed it in ld 49. but when i call 571-222-1234, the phone just hangs up and i get this error message on my switch.

DCH 12 IMSG SETUP REF 00008011 CH 0 TOD
PROGRESS: ORIG ADDR IS NOT ISDN

CALLING # 703-793-XXXX NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN
CALLED # 1234 NUM PLAN: NUM UNKNOWN

this is actually the entire error message..

copy the RDB for the Cisco and the Dchannel programming and paste to here, or email me at john.anaya@broadwing.com. I will give you my phone number and help you....might be tomorrow afternoon before I get back to you if you don't respond in the next hour....time 3:36pm CDT.

Change the "SIDE" prompt to NET and try to change the IFC to 4ESS. They will need to change the Cisco configuration to ESS4.

But make the PBX the Network side of the connection.

Try this first.

When integrating with a Cisco router, Cisco cannot initiate startup of a d-channel. The only protocol a Nortel PBX can use to initiate startup is NI2. You cannot configure a NI2 RT as a tie line. Therefore, you need to configure the RT as DID.

We are currently trying to implement a similar solution as described here. We just a few technical issues you guys may have already answered.....?
We have an Option11 trying to connect tie-trunk to cisco 3640 rel 12.2(8)T5 - do we definitely need the VWIC (voice modules) for the cisco to convert the voice signal to data? All we really want is to pass the traffic to another router (in seperate location) and then onto another option11 to enable DN (extension) dialing between the 2 sites.
If you do need the VWIC technology - how do you connect the RJ48 presentation of the modules to the PBX PRI card ? Currently we have the NTBK05CA co-ax cable.

thanks alot for the info here as well. very helpful :)
