the PWR-series from HP are OK.
Cisco catalyst series POE switches are also OK.
The E/// switch is still cheaper than the HP and Cisco equivalents.

ok then the Ericsson ESN310 will be the nr one choice but as a service tool can i use some cheep as for ex netgear or so just to have as a tool in lab envirement? to power up some one or two phones during testing?

the normal power adapter is sufficient for tool/labo use.

hi again whosrdaddy i see the point what you meen but i have my own lab pbxs and its here i have 6 E voip phones mostly 4425 and some 3413 would like to skip the local power supply and have it going by network cable first thing i had on my mind was buying a ESN310 or as you have sugested HP or cisco but it would be nice to save some money due that its not so many phones i understand if 3413 dosent work feeding true network the same way that 4425 wasnt there some difference like that 3413 uses E standard and 4425 uses real network standard POE i have seen that there is a cheep Neetger device with POE wonder if that will work? as i said its for my own labb and not to a custumer site so saving money is good

as aau2 said, the switch must support 802.3af standard.

Hi aau2,

Are you saying that both 802.3af option 1 : pin 1&2 with 3&6 or option 2 : 4&5 with 7&8 that feeded from the power switch will work for 4425 without changing any dip switch setting on the Ericsson 4425? I am not sure about this!
Thanks in adnanced.
