Does anyone have any good links to sample templates for software development project management? Right now I am looking for a real good template for a "Statement of Work", that will help me understand what is usually expected in this document and how I can adapt it for my projects' special needs.

Since you also asked what is expected in a Statement of Work, not just a template, I suggest you purchase, borrow, rent, whatever, a copy of Kim Heldman's PMP prep book published by Sybex. Although it's geared to those studying for the PMP exam, it goes into great detail of what a project charter and Statement of Work is, the difference betweent the two, how to gather the required information, and a sample template (that is very basic - but may be perfect to give to a CFO or non-techy stakeholder). It's written in a friendly, low-key style and was actually enjoyable to read. Good luck!
