PM 6.5/7.0 crashes during PDF export

At different times with different files, I get the following message during the PDF export:
"Instruction at '0x05d63c53' referenced memory at '0x756e6575'. Memory could not be 'written'.
Click OK to terminate.
Click CANCEL to debug."

No matter my choice (to terminate or debug), PM crashes. Then, when I reopen the save file, an info box pops up telling me the file wasn't closed properly, and do I want to revert to the most recent file.

I've un- then re-installed the program (first 6.5 Plus, then 7.0), but this problem persists. Any clues?

Thanks in advance!

I have not tried 7 but 6.5 was always buggy with the Export PDF function. The best option is to print to a postscript file and then distill separately.

Use the method that jimoblak recommends for best results. Export is buggy and undependable quite often. However, there are ways to minimize problems when using Export to PDF.

Make sure that you don't have corrupt fonts in your document. Many TT fonts that are available for free from the internet are shady at best. Use only quality fonts from reputable font houses and sources.

Use only EPS or TIFF graphics. Make sure that you don't have a corrupt graphic in the doc.

If you have placed or pasted tables from Excel or Word, they will likely cause problems during the export function, too. Best workaround, even though it is a PITA, is to convert the tables to PDF (or convert into a TIF) and place the PDF (or TIF) in the PM doc, then create a PDF of the entire doc. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
