I am running VFP9 happily. Occasionally I get this message coming up, most recently when I tried to run a program which made use of OLE.
"Please wait while Windows configures Visual FoxPro Professional - English"
A progress bar is then displayed with an ever-increasing "Time remaining" message. You can cancel the process (else it never finishes) although you have to cancel about 3 or 4 times.
On searching the web I understand that this is a problem with Microsoft Installer and that there is a Windows Installer Cleanup utility which can fix the problem.
I am planning to run this but am concerned whether this will remove my existing installation of VFP9 - or whether it will just tidy up the files used by MSI and so fix the problem.
