Hi,

I'd really appreciate if anyone would like to take a look at this site and let me know if there are any problems. I'd especially like anyone with a Mac to take a look.

I don't have the navigation buttons on there yet, but you can still get around by using the image category links to the cart pages and there are text links to home, contact, etc. on the page. Products are still being added.

All constructive comments appreciated!

Thanks very much,

kelly

Nothing to say except "I really like the site" - and as you say the navigation isn't in there yet so icing on the cake I reckon.

Nice work (green with envy here . . . )

Hi

Nice. A good balance of design and information.

Maybe the Home | Privacy | Returns | Contact links are far from sign on the main page. There is plenty of space in the left of the search form or anywhere closer to the top of page.

And you could include the search form on every page. And you could put a "detailed search" link beside the search form, to lead the visitor to a full feature search form. As improvement you could include a price range search possibility too.

Abit more complicate to modify : neighter on the search result page, or product description page, the category is not mentioned. Of course, if one product can be included in more categories, then forget this comment.

I think the "email a friend about this item" form is abit too obtrusive.

Hi,

Thank you both for taking a look.

As I mentioned, the navigation is not complete yet. I'm going to have a dropdown menu for categories in addition to buttons for home, about us, returns, privacy and contact.

Actually there is a search link on every page throughout the cart. That links to the search form which is more detailed. The only pages that don't have any search are privacy, returns, about us and contact (About Us has not been given to me yet.)

Not sure what you mean about the category not being mentioned. The category name is at the top of each product page in a breadcrumb trail: Online Store >> Category Name . Maybe it's not visible enough?

Thanks for the suggestion about a price range search. I will try to implement that, and I agree about the Email a Friend being too obtrusive. That is how the cart is written, but I think I'll either get rid of it altogether, or just have a link to another page, although that would mean passing the product info to another page, so not as easy as it may sound.

Thanks again!

Hi

Yes, I saw the search links, but I prefer search forms.

About the missing category :
- I searched for "xxx"
- between the results I clicked on the white teddy bear
- on the product detail page's top appears only "Online Store", no category

Okay, yes items can appear in several categories, so I guess that's why it's that way.

Thanks again for your review. I'll consider all comments.

Hi Kevin,

I'm not sure what you're referring to about "double borders" unless you're talking about some of the product thumbnails that have white on the sides. If that's what you're referring to, the reason they're that way is that the shopping cart is set to display a 150px wide thumbnail, and since some of the product photos are taller than they are wide and some product photos are square, I had to make a choice to place the taller ones on a white background/canvas 150 px high and make them 150px wide that way (and have them all the same width and height), or crop out part of the height of the image. I decided it was best to keep all of the image and place it on a white canvas.

Is that what you're referring to? If you know of a better way to deal with my problem, I'm certainly open to all suggestions, because I would prefer not to have the white on the sides either.

Thanks,

kelly

Ohhhhh, I thought you were talking about the images. :)

Ok, well I'll run that by my client and either way is fine with me.

Thanks for looking.

The only thing that really jumped out at me was that the text in the logo is pretty hard to read (the "since 1989" is almost completely illegible - or do i need glasses that badly? ;)). The text in the bottom of the logo ("A DELICIOUS...") could possibly have the tracking adjusted so that some of the letters weren't pretty much overlapping...

Otherwise, nice work!

Thanks AtomicChip,

I agree about the Candy Bouquet logo. Candy Bouquet is a franchise ( and is just one of the things that Presentville carries (so it's not my client's logo). The logo on the Candy Bouquet site is just as bad. I guess I could try to work on their logo a bit and see if I can improve it a bit without it looking different.

It's tough working on something like that without having the original vector artwork (especially when the text is so small.)

Thanks for taking a look.
