Believe me i tried all tricks and searched the whole internet (nearly)... I need this file:
ATMENUXX.HLP
Its a help file located in the C:\Windows\system folder (its very small) and Id appreciate if you could search for it and email it to me!
Thank you very much, Im tired of my error messages!

Would be much easier to help if you would specify what OS version you are working with and include your e-mail address in the post.

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Have you done a search through regedit to find out why the file is being called? The tree name of the reg entry may tell you which program it is from which may give one of us a nudge in the right direction.

Your email address would also be useful.

Hi.......
I keep getting an error message telling me my APPS.INF file needs to be copied to my windows file from the disk.
I dont have a clue what happened to that file, but my CD-ROM drive doesnt work so I cant copy ANYTHING!
Can anyone help???
I am running Windows 98.
Thanks!!

Starters is to get the CDR working. Try deleting it, then reboot and see if 98 is smart enough to find it. If 98 can't find it then youve probably lost it and time for a replacement.

Location of apps.inf and apps.hlp;

Win 98 = Win98_44.cab File

Win 98 SE = Win98_49.cab File

Once you've followed edfair's advice to replace your CD rom, insert your windows disc.
Then follow these instrutions with the CAB file for your os i.e. win 98 or win 98 SE.
Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.

On the Tools menu, click System File Checker.

Click "Extract one file from installation disk," type the name of the file you want to extract in the "Specify the system file you would like to restore" box, and then click Start.

In the Restore From box, type the path to the Win98 folder on the Windows 98 CD-ROM, type the destination folder in the Save File In box if necessary, and then click OK.

Click OK, click OK, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart your computer.
