We have a BRAND new HP that came with the blasted ME edition. There HAS to be something wrong with it. In one day, we are now on our THIRD pc...and now THIS one has a problem. Windows still runs even though no windows are open, can't run scan disc, doesn't take the restore disc and now this third pc, out-of-the-blue will just shut down to either a blue screen with this error message: windows error error OD:04F1 015F2737 what does this mean? also, twice now, I have lost the entire pc to a blank screen (black/grey) for no reason at all. Please help, HP tech support has us doing all kinds of things that just do not work, I have been looking on the net, when the pc allows me to before it shuts down with another error trying to find my answers. thank you so very much in advance.

If you are having the same problem on three new PCs in one day I would assume that the problem is external (not really related to the PCs).

The problems could be caused by faulty household current or something as simple as operator error. (For now, we'll rule out the last possibility.)

It would help to have more details on a specific problem.

I appreciate those ideas, but trust me...both have been checked out....here's the latest problem....this is a brand new pc..no hardware added, it's still the same as it was when we bought it. You'll be working, then boom, you've lost everything to a blue screen with that above message. It gives you the option of C/A/D, and now, you just lost the internet site you were at along with any document you were working on. Then, another message will come along soon after..this one comes on a black/grey screen and it says EXCEPTON 0028:C0012D2V in VxD called from 0028:D60DEAE8 now the option is you can 'try' to hit any key, (which will bring you to a locked up half loaded screen) or use the control/alt/delete...but no matter what, the pc is locked up.....at my office, I am working on the internet and with word and excell for 12 hours a day...not a single glitch....now this ME edition has literally brought me to tears. Oh, and BTW, I thought that I would try to run scan disc to see if it owuld peg out any 'errors' that would need fixing, and guess what, it gets restarted ten times, (it states that it's restarted 10 times, do I want to continue) and it says that a windows program is running when there is NOTHING at all on except the scan disc. I spent 6.5 hours on trying to scan the pc, and what happens, nothing...it never gets a chance to finish. Any clue????????

for scandisk turn off your screen saver. this will be interupting the process. go into display properties to do this ( control panel i think never used ME)

thank you so much regarding the screen saver...even though we don't have anything other then the HP one, I will give it a try...I didn't think about that, see...that's why I asked for help :) Oh, BTW....turns out that there is major problems with ME system and AOL not getting along on pc's....that's the root of the problem, they are still trying to figure out how to solve it. Thanks again :)
