I am using cold fusion to create a table which will populate a database. One of the fields for first name has first name and middle initial inputted in it. (i.e. the field for first name could be "Joe B."). And unfortunately the DB has 2500 records, so manual changes are out of the question. How can I get cold fusion to select the first part of the field, to get just the first name.
Use the string Handling functions such as SpanExcluding to span to the first space. This will be the first name.

See Ben Forta's Book Pg 883.
Dave Joyce
DaveJoyce@hotmail.com
