I have a DID line that I want to forward to a calling group. The calling group is all set up and ready to go. I have the DID line, which I set to *33 then the calling group 772, but it never forwards over.

Am I doing something wrong? I read a different post that said to turn on forwarding to the group, then I could add the DO NOT DISTURB so that it would forward right over without ringing, but that's not working.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Well, I am not sure what you are trying to do, but the story book (Under the Forwarding Feature/Feature Interactions) Pointedly states that "Calls can not be forwarded to a Calling Group."

However, since you have a D-I-D, you could either renumber your calling group to match that D-I-D, or renumber another one to match it, and then overflow it to the original Calling Group.

Thanks so much for the reply. How can I renumber this? The DID line is xxx-6152 (which rings internal ext. 152)

I'm trying to route these calls to calling group 772

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Ok, I renumbered an un-used group, 7929 to 6152. Is there a way to overflow it right away to the group 772? In other words, I don't want any delays or rings, just dump all calls right into 772?

Thanks again!

HELP!!!! I did that, renumbered ext. 152 to ext. 140. Then renumbered calling group 772 to 152. This works great, but now all the other extensions are screwed up!

I call ext 159 and someone from ext 212 answers. Call 192 and someone from ext 517 answers!

Not sure what I screwed up here, and I can't seem to even make any sense of how or why the calls are being routed. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

If you have Auto-Backup turned on, restore the system from the most recent backup BEFORE you started making changes. Then go back and make the two renumbers that you need to make the calling group work.

Ok, I'm half-way there. I had calling group 30 (voicemail) turned on as a coverage group for the calling group, so the calling group was covering calls when it would bounce to voicemail.

I took calling group 30 out of the coverage group and now calls are routing to where they're supposed to route. Wheeww!

But not Voicemail is not picking at all, for any extension. No matter what ext. I call, it just rings and rings. And I checked the extensions are all in the calling group 30.

Any reason why VM would not be answering? Thanks again!

What calling group are your voice mail extensions assigned to?

That is the group that needs to have COVER GROUP 30 assigned to it.

Not sure I understand. (please forgive me, for I am a novice who has to administer the phone system).

The voicemail COVERAGE group is 30. This is where all the extensions are listed on the right hand side, and when I add a new number that I want vm on, I have to add it here.

The calling group that I just added is #152, and I have that set to overflow to 777 which is the voicemail extension (#30 wasn't available in the drop-down list).

So all I really did was re-number a calling group from 772 to 152, and set it to overflow to ext 777. This seems to be working ok now, but now when I call any other extension, it just rings and rings, and never gets to voicemail.

Ok, now I understand. When I looked at group 777 (voicemail) it was not covering coverage group 30 (voicemail)

I assume this is b/c when I added it for calling group 512 by accident, it took it off of calling group 777?

It's working now, but if someone can just confirm what I think I did wrong, and if it needs to be any place else, that'd be awesome!

Thanks again to all for their help, especially MerlinMan for answering my posts on a Saturday!
