I am trying to backup 2 different servers using 2 tape drives that are the same type but are physically located in the same place. I set up these drives in a cascaded drive pool and let the job run, however what happens is the first tape will finish and advise to remove the media. The second tape drive will not start running until I take out the first one. I thought the whole point of cascading drives was to avoid my having to change tapes out. Can anyone please help me resolve this problem. Thank you in advance for your reply

Would be nice to see an error message from the job log. In lieu of that, check your Overwrite Protection Period. If it is set to none, the job will stop after the first tape/drive. Change it from none to a more appropriate time period. Do this in Tools\Options\ and the properties of the Media Set.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for responding to my post. There are no error messages generated in the log for the job. I do have all of the tapes set to none in the overwrite protection column. I will try that. Thank you again.
