Hello there,

I failed my first attempt on the BCMSN exam last week, did a score of 732 and passing score is 755, so that was close.
One of the areas, in which it didn`t do well, was "Describe and implement security features in a switched network".
To be honest, I`m not quite sure what security features are.
Can someone please try to explain me because this is an area I could improve in.

Thank`s in advance...

The areas I believe they cover are things such as:

AAA configuration
802.1x port-based authentication configuration
port security (secure MAC address) configuration
private vlans (pvlans) configuration
vlan acls (vacls) configuration
port-based acls (pacls) configuration

All of the above will be searchable on cisco.com for further info. Just search for the terms as I've outlined, e.g. 'port security configuration'

Thank`s a lot, KiscoKid

I will have my second attemp tomorrow, so I will study these things and hope that I will pass this time...

Hi,

Maybe it is a bit stupid to answer my own post.
I went for my second attempt for the BCMSN exam today and did a score of 742 (passing score still 755).
This time I had problems with spanning-tree and I just want to know if someone knows a good document, book or whatever, that describes spanning-tree in an easy and understanable way.

I hope your next score isn't a 752. The Cisco Press and Sybex books I thought were a very good study guide.

I finally made it.
Went for the exam today and scored 958 so next exam will be BCRAN [bigsmile]

958 is an excellent score. Job well done!

Haven't had to take BCRAN in years but other recent posts on this board suggest it can be a tough exam. Good luck with that!

Flem01 hi,
I am standing 3 days befor BCMSN , can you tell me what kind of question you had? Thank you .

Best Regards,
