I have W2K Pro machines connected in to a workgroup. I created a local group policy on one of them to hide some start menu and desktop icons. I want it to affect only certain users who logon this machines locally instead of everyone, but I dont know if that is possible and how.

Can anybody help me on this Please?

Note: there is no domain on this network.

thanks

HELLO,
i don't believe that there is a way to do that.
in order to apply a gpo to specific users you would need to create a domain, create a group for the users you want to restrict(name it "no icon" or something), then create the appropriate gpo and apply it to the group you just created.

or you could edit the gpo on individual machines and assign the users that you want restricted to those machines.
