Please help for newbie

Hello,

Our company just moved from Ex 5.5 to 2000. I'm a network security guy so I don't know much about Exchange. The guy who implemented this new environment is on vacation in Mexico. So, users have reported their email to yahoo or other companies got lost in space. I check the Routing Engine in Exchange and it says started. I looked at the queues and we have a lot of queues. Then i restarted the MS Exchange Routing Engine service and it does not start and gives me this error: 2148321280

Could you please point me to the right directions?

Does the routing address have a * in it?

yes it has a * in it for SMTP.
