Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before.
I'm trying to get ArcServe 6.5 (Build 620) Single Server Edition on Windows 2000 Server. It installs OK, but database engine won't start (error 1053). However, both Tape and Job engines do start, and they seem to work fine (did some backup and restore operations). Is there any workaround to get AS6.5 to work (other than upgrading to AS2000)?
I went to CA support pages and browsed the list of available patches, but I can't seem to find any that solves the problem. Also I can't find any e-mail address to contact CA about this issue.
Also, I've been browsing this forum and found a thread talking about the same problem happening with ArcServeIT 6.61, and one of the replies seems to point that the problem may be related to the security configuration of W2k (something about 128bits while AS works in 40 ?!?!?). Can someone explain what does mean and how can I change the security configuration of W2K?
