playing what-if with MS Project

I am playing what-if with MSP - what if we shorten this task, or change this dependancy. I have created several projects, each with different choices. During discussions, I am sure that one of the tasks common to all the projects will change. I would like to redo this correctly such that I have some sort of base project that I can change, and all the different scenarios would update automatically. Is this possible?

[In scenario A I eat my PB&J at noon, while in B I eat it at 6 pm. I would like to change the length of time it takes to make a PB&J in once, and have it modify both schedules.]

Hi

Which version of MS Project are you using?
I currently have a similar situation. I am using project 2007 for a client and need to show the difference between using one resource to do the development work or using two. I am saving he project schedule and creating 2 MPP files that display to difference. In my case the project will have a very different time line if we have one resource than if we have two. It would be too time consuming to work with one MPP file and adjust the resources, so I have save the schedule twice to accommodate the what-if scenarios.

Thanks for the commiseration. We are using Project 2007. I think your scenerio where you have the same task list and linking but different resource levels lends itself well to to simply saving two copies. I am trying to look at different linking scenarios and have made multiple copies. The problem is that if want to change something, I have to change it in 8 different files.
