Hi,

I'm looking for easiest (cheapest) way to periodically play prompt for all callers while they're in queue for queue size up to 300 callers in one time. It seems that easiest way is to use VAL boards. I have queue size up to 300 callers and need to play all prompt from start to end - moh function is not possible, so I need 10 VAL's in peak. Another option seems to be using converse-on to skill with virtual agents logged on IVR ports but in this scenario I need IVR ports + ACD agent license. Any other ideas ?

The G450 stores announcement files in an internal announcement directory. The
G450 supports up to 256 announcement files, totalling up to 45 minutes of audio
for announcements and music on hold. If a compact flash is installed with
increased RAM, the G450 supports up to 1024 announcement files, for a total of
240 minutes. A total of 63 announcements can be played simultaneously, and one
port may be used for recording. Recording, storing, and playing announcement
files is controlled by Avaya CM. Also supports VAM and SCP secure file transfer

The G450 supports:

Secure transfer of announcement files to and from VAM using SCP

Simple management operations for the announcement files stored in the
announcement directory

Dynamic allocation of announcement time slots for 64 announcement ports on an
as-needed basis

Locally Sourced Announcements and Music

The Locally Sourced Announcement and Music feature is based on the concept of
audio source groups. This feature allows announcement and music sources to be
located on any or all of the Voice Announcement with LAN (VAL) circuit packs or
on virtual VALs (v VAL) in a media gateway. The VAL or v VAL circuit packs are
assigned to an audio group. The audio group is then assigned to an announcement
or audio extension as a group sourced location. When an incoming call requires
an announcement or music-on-hold, the audio source that is closest to the
incoming call trunk plays the file that is assigned to the announcement
extension.

For more information, see the feature description on "Locally Sourced
Announcements and Music."

If MOH isn't an option because you want the entire announcement from start to finish to play, VAL boards and announcements are not going to be your answer either.

If a call is already in queue and you are playing an announecment from a VAL and an agent becomes available, it will transfer the caller to the agent immediately even if the announcement hasn't finsihed.

Quoting only proves you know how to cut and paste.

Stinney,
We're plan to play announcement only when EWT < MAX announcement length and we don't care some minimal % of non finished plays.

You don't need 10 VAL boards for 300 concurrent callers hearing announcements. 1 (per port network) will handle that just fine.
