Playing a .WAV file to a modem using Delphi

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to play a .WAV file to an open modem connection. i am using Delphi 5.

One quick question, how will playing a .wav file help you to open a modem connection?

I want to play a recorded message down the phone line when called by a certain event.
The .WAV is only the message I want to play, I would have already opened the telephone line in some other way.
