Hi,

I've designed and published a flash movie on a WinTel machine which is about half a meg in size, featuring lots of vector animation and a soundtrack. Running the resultant .swf off the internet, CD or hard disc of a WinTel machine achieves the expected results but trying the same thing on a Mac results in a dreadful animation lag which means the soundtrack finishes halfway through the movie, even when the .swf is run off the hard drive. For some reason the .swf is opening in quickTime on the Mac. I've got no idea what's causing this or what I can do to fix it, but any help would be very gratefully appreciated.
Cheers,
Matt

What your framerate? Regards,

Well that might not explain why your .swf is outputed through QT on that particular Mac (have you tried it on other Macs?), but it could explain the lag problem.
According to Wangbar, another guru here on the forum, Macs won't behave properly with a framerate of under 31 fps.
Although that outputed through QT stuff could also be causing some troubles. I'd check it on another Mac, and if it does work properly (outputed through the Flash player), but still lags... Then I guess you're up against starting from scratch at a higher framerate, because changing your framerate in your current project will obviously accelerate things and that may not work to your satisfaction.
