I am trying to initialize a BCM 400 3.6 that just went through a HDD crash. The system gets stuck on "In process" with red lights continuously blinking from left to right. Thanks to another member of the forum, I am able to get to the web based mgmt, but the system does not show any of the MBM's attached to it. I have not reloaded any of the keycodes, but oddly the MCDN networking keycode is still there. I figured I would initalize the HD with no MBMs in it, and then do it again with them installed. I found thread1361-1375404 which addresses this initialization problem explicitly and talks about clearing the logs in the system. It stated that you need to load cleanevents.exe if it is not found in the dir. He/She stated that if you don't have the startup CD, there is one attached to the thread. I guess since the thread is closed, it is not there anymore. Does anyone have this file or know why the system is not seeing the MBM's? I was able to successfully initialize the system before, with the MBM's in it, but that obviously wasn't all that was needed.

I appreciate in help in advance!!

Sounds like you need to run a file named "cleanEvents.exe". You'll need to telnet into the system, and search for it on each drive using the command "dir cleanevents.exe /s" at the root directory. I think it's on the E:\ . If found, run the command. It is a quick thing, and you'll get three log files that say "Cleaned". Once complete, run a Universal Profile, and that should clear it up.

Remember to change the date of your system to a day PRIOR to Jan 28 2008 before running the Universal Profile, or you will lock yourself out of web based programming. Very Important !

Almost every upgrade/HHD replacement of a 3.x system for me has had this issue.

If you cannot locate the file on the BCM, you get to go through the fun process of FTP'ing the file from the BCM upgrade disks (if available).
