I am having trouble configuring a PLAR SIP phone (8861 and CIPC SIP phones) on CUCM 10.5.

I've set up the following
1. PLAR partition
2. CSS for PLAR (which includes the internal directory number CSS)
3. Translation pattern - blank pattern, urgent priority, outside dial tone and a called number of 5555
4. DN is in PLAR partition, device is in PLAR CSS
5. SIP dial rule with a PLAR description under pattern information.

When I hit the speaker button all I get is dial tone. :(

In the SIP dial rule, I put in 5555 as the value under pattern information and that did not work either, so I put it back to blank with just the description.

I've successfully set this up in a lab before but alas, not working in a live environment.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Hi ReallyRotten,

what do you have for partition and CSS on your Translation pattern?

I've looked up some documentation that i've made years back and it is almost similar to your description. It looks as following:

1) Create PLAR Partition
2) Create PLAR CSS , in this CSS put the partition of the the directory number that is going to be called (The partition where 5555 is active)
3) Create a Translation pattern that is blank, Partition is the PLAR partition, CSS is a CSS that is allowed to call 5555, Called party transformation pattern is the number to be called (5555)
4) On your PLAR device put the PLAR CSS
5) On de directory number on the PLAR device put the PLAR CSS

This document was once made on a analog gateway, but in my opinion it should not matter what kind of device you use (Unless a SIP phone does not signal to the CUCM that it has gone offhook)

I believe what happened was the phone was in the wrong partition. I changed a bunch of things including the SIP dial rule. Whatever I did, it worked.
