Plantronics CS540 with NEC SL1100 telephones

My customer wants a wireless headset. I'd like to use the Plantronics CS540, but I'm stuck on if I need the Wireless Adapter add-on that connects to the headset jack on the phone. Won't this work on the telephone if I programm a Headset button without the need for the Wireless Adapter?

The CS540 is a wireless headset. You will need the adaptor.
