Hello,

Can anyone chime in on a headset situation with the m7316?

With the m7310 the cs540 works flawlessly, with the lifter.

with the 7316 there is a headset button on the set, so I can not answer calls with the headset. even though the lifter is working appropriately.
A button press of the "headset" button is required to establish the connection. not exactly how i imagined it working.

i have tried the programming/capabilities/handsfree - auto/std/none and also the "HF answerback" options. to no avail.

am i missing something?

thank you

OK, so i plugged the headset in to the handset jack and plugged the handset in to the plantronics pigtail.

i suppose this is the workaround for certain units, the m7310 worked normally plugged in the correct ports.

maybe there is no programming to disable the headset button on the m7316 or something.

thank you

Press it to enable it, press it again to disable it....no need for programming when it's that simple.

Its T not M
T7316
If you do not have the correct software in the phone system then maybe those 2 or 3 keys will not work.
T7316 has 2 keys
T7316e has 3 keys

All you need is a Handsfree programmed as Yes, Auto or Standard

Headsets go into the Headset port under the phone (middle jack).

The work around depends on a lot.

The install guide for what ever model you are talking about should show the ways to connect as well the guide for the lifter.

Plantronics support line will also help you in minutes.

I checked your user guide and it seems to show what you call the work around as being the correct way.....and for most other phones.

Note that the Norstar sets do not support EHS so do not try to use that cable.

"Headsets go into the Headset port under the phone (middle jack)."
This would apply to a standard headset in most cases.

"A button press of the "headset" button is required to establish the connection, not exactly how i imagined it working"
This is normal because you maybe away from your desk when the phone rings (hence the wireless headset) so walking back to your phone to press a button to answer is not ideal and why you use the button on the headset.
I wired headset however is using the phone button (HF key)
