Placing Tiff Images into Document

Hi there

I have a bunch of tiff files of diagrams that I need to insert into an Adobe Indesign 3 document. I did not create them.

Problem is when I do place them they are a little pixelated. They look like a great resolution viewing them as images. There are other tiff images in the document, placed as tiffs and they look perfect.

Any ideas?

Could be resolution of the image.

Select the image and go to

Windows>info

And check what the effective ppi is.

The actual ppi refers the original ppi of the image.

The effective ppi represents the image data after scaling the image in indesign.

The effective ppi should be 300 ppi for printing purposes.

You could also look under

View>Display Performance

choose High Quality

InDesign doesn't actually hold your image in the document, the image frame provides a placeholder for the image and InDesign uses a thumbnail of the image to show the layout of the document and placement of images and text.

So that's why you have different display performances.
