Placing Photoshop image into pagemaker layout

Why is that when I place a photoshop image into PAGEMAKER, the image I see is pixelleted. How to set the resolution for a 4layer printout and also for greyscale printout?

What format is the Photoshop image? You have to save it as a TIF before placing it in PM, which cannot accept native PS files.

The default graphics preview in PM is a low-rez image to save on redraw time when scrolling or changing pages. You can set it to show a high-rez preview under File>Preferences.

By 4 layer printout, do you mean separations?

For a greyscale printout, there is a choice under one of the buttons of the Print dialog box to print in B&W (assuming you have a colour printer).

Not exactly. Pagemaker 7.0 handles native PSD files and always has. The reason the image looks pixelated is that you might have the preview set to low res. go to edit preferences and pick high res if you need it that way. It slows the screen redraws depending on how large the file is.

If you place an eps it will look blurry unless you save with a tif preview header. You can use tif/eps or psd in pagemaker 7.0 with no problems.
