I will try to be more specific. I am working on a machine where Windows is corrupt and I will have to reformat the hard drive. Before I do that we are saving some data file in DOS mode. I have a couple files that are larger than 1.44 mb, so rather than using the copy command, I thought I would use PKZIP to do it, but it's been so long since I have used pkzip I can't remember the line syntax.
I will use a specific file example. We have an access file named Service.dbm that is in the mydocuments folder. I want to zip it to a floppy. What exactly would be the line syntax to do this. I put the Pkzip program in the root directory of C:
c:\pkzip a:\service.zip c:\mydocu~1\service.dbm.
By using full path names it doesn't matter where you are. It would probably be better to zip to a temporary directory then copy from there. That would give you a first shot at checking file sizes.
How about reinstalling over the top. That usually gets rid of the glitches. Reformatting opens other cans of worms. Ed Fair

I did try to reload windows, but it had problems with 3 files, shimgvw.dll, upnpui.dll and dajava.cab, all files that go to the system directory. So the windows (ME) reload did not work
