Hi,

we like to upgrade our Networker 7.5.1 Patch3 to Patch 9 on Solaris 10

For that, ill extracted the packages to one directory and typed in

pkgadd -d .

Then i selected the options i like to have and got afterwards this:

Current administration requires that a unique instance of the
<LGTOclnt> package be created. However, the maximum number of
instances of the package which may be supported at one time on the
same system has already been met.

Any idea what went wrong ?

It happens equal if i select onyl one package or multiple

Hello,

if you're upgrading the client package, nothing changes...

@denisfr

Sorry but thats not correct.

A "upgrade" is not possible....frist you have to remove the installed packages with pkgrm and then install the nw ones.

Becuase of that process..adjustment in the following files can get lost and should be saved before!

/etc/inittab
/etc/init.d/networker
/etc/rpc
/etc/devlink.tab
/etc/syslog.conf
/etc/system
/usr/kernel/drv/lus.conf
/kernel/drv/sgen.conf
/kernel/drv/st.conf

Your question was about library, clients, groups... so my answer was according to that :
When upgrading Networker, nor the files neither the Networker databases are deleted.

The files names you gave are re-created (or completed) when reinstalling...
