When I make a perfect square in ai it comes out crisp and perfectly sharp. As soon as I make a shape with diagonal lines they look pixelated and not sharp.

It's in a new file so other layers are interfering with it, there is no outline, and no filter/effect. Anti-Alias is set to 'on' and my raster effects are set to 300dpi.

Any suggestions??

Thanks
Jennifer

...assuming you are referring to on screen view and not print output?

Since pixels are arranged in vertical columns and horizontal rows, there is no way to avoid stair-steps on a diagonal line.

Perhaps it would help to explain the situation if you found a way to share the image that you are seeing.

i tried it with pixel preview on and off... It is for a website design so how it prints does not matter to me :) Ill upload an image of what I'm seeing asap...
