I have a question when I am on IRC I see a ~ before my ident, which I think is causing me problems on IRC servers that require ident. I have tried these commands after a friend suggested them to no avail.

PIX-Firewall(config)# sh service
PIX-Firewall(config)# clear service
PIX-Firewall(config)# service resetinbound
PIX-Firewall(config)#

Please offer some advice to a Cisco newbie, any constructive advice will be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Strange, I use the same method to solve the same problem, and it works.
This is on 4.2.2 and 6.2.2.
Maybe you need a reload afterwards?
I usually reload instead of clear xlate anyway.
Try this:
service resetinbound
wr mem
reload

Then confirm that resetinbound is really active:
sh service

Otherwise, what's you version?

Although, I am not sure what the tilde business in your IRC client you are refering to, means.

Hope this helps.

I tried that, no luck, I still get these errors when connecting to a SSL secured FTP that requires an ident response and also another IRC server (Linknet) that requires an ident response. Below I have pasted the error messages.
