Upgraded my 501 to 3.0(1) of PDM. Logged in, and it politely told me that my Pix OS (6.1(2)) wasn't supported by PDM 3.0, and that I should upgrade my Pix OS. So, I upgraded my Pix OS to 6.3, and now PDM doesn't recoginize the password. It just asks for it 3x, and then displays:
==============
Authorization Required
Browser not authentication-capable or authentication failed.
==============
I can find no mention of recoving the PDM password. I know how to do the OS password recovery, but I don't believe that it will affect the PDM password. Any hints/ideas/clues?

TIA,

HI.

The PDM password is normaly the "enable" password.
Can you log in to the pix (console/telnet) and get into "enable" mode?
The username field is normaly left blank.

Did PDM work before the upgrade?

Try with a different workstation - sometimes strange PDM problems are related to the client browser.

Please provide more details.

I'm all set now. Prior to upgrade the username was PDM, and used the enable password. After the upgrade, apparently it dumps the username but keeps the password. It took me forever to even think of removing the username. But it was as simple as that. And, FWIW, PDM 3.0 is a MAJOR improvement over the 1.1(2) that is stock on the 501. I highly recommend upgrading to anyone that hasn't.

Thanks :)
