does anyone know the pinout of the serial port rs232 of the rs messaging card? I have a merlin magix pbx

It's the same as the Admin and SMDR ports on the Magix processor, so use the same 355A adapter you're using there. Fire up Hyperterminal and set the parameters to:

§ Bit per second: 38400
§ Data Bits 8
§ Parity: None
§ Stop Bits 1
§ Flow control: None

Hit return, log in as "sysadmin" and use the same numeric password as the System Administrator's mailbox.

You can also dial into the Automated Attendant and dial "**3" to transfer to the internal modem.

I do not have the 355A adapter, I would like to make one. I need to have the pinout of the rj-45 to db-9.
can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

Use at your own risk; this is a cut-n-paste and has been posted before:

The connections are as follows
RJ45 (9Pin Female)
1 9
2 8,6,1
3 4
4 5
5 2
6 3

Does anyone know what cable you would use with this. A straight-thru cat 5 is not good?

From the 355 to the ADMIN port, just a D8W, MLX Cord.

The other part, I just use a 9 to 25 Pin adapter and a 355 of the correct gender.

It is NOT THAT TOUGH !
