I have recently bought an Intel core 2 computer Desktop which has XP service pack 2 and wanted to use my Dazzle DVC 90 capturing device on it so I can capture VHS tape as AVI format for Adobe premier pro. I installed the Pinnacle start 9.4 software and then plugged the capture device in. Unfortunately, I then tried to capture in the "Capture window" and there was no vision and the noise was scratchy and faintly heard. I checked Hardware in control panel and it indicated that the hardware was installed and working properly.

I also have a DEll INSPIRON 9300 notebook with Windows XP service pack 2 and the Dazzle DVC 90 through the Pinnacle software works perfectly. I appreciate some advice for this problem. Thank you again

Do you have the correct codecs installed, or make sure that the once the DV90 software installs are not defective...

Sherlock will tell you if they are damaged or not:

Dear Bigbadben,
Thank you for your advice. I did not think of the CODECS issue. How would I know how to install the correct CODECS on my computer? Do I need to search for it on the net and download it?

Thanks again Bosy

For more information on CODECs and where to get them, visit the following website(s):

1.) - here you will find info on all sorts of codecs both Video and Audio wise...

2.) - here you will find the CODECS you need and then some...

I can only suggest the K-LITE MEGA CODEC Pack, it has all the Codecs you will ever need and uses a checking routine to see if the codecs do not interfere with each other...

if these do not alleviate your problem with the Missing Video or scratchy Audio, then it has to be a setting issue or possible incompatibility with the CORE2 hardware in general (should not be it though)...
