Hello,
I seem to have an issue pinging a unix server or accessing the unix server only when i am connected remotely Via VPN.I can access and ping other Windows servers.
Has anyone encountered such an issue?.
Are they in the same subnet? If they are then the problem is with the unix box. Check the unix box's firewall to make sure that it isn't blocking the subnet your VPN is using.
They are in the same subnet and it works fine when working locally. If they are in the same subnet, why then should the firewall block access. Will it have anything to do with nat-traversal?
Thanks
First thing to try - Does your unix box have a default gateway of the pix?
Second thing -
I wasn't clear - when you VPN in you get an IP that is not local to the network. The ASA/PIX houses that internally and routes accordingly. You did this with the IP pool command. Now the unix box may not respond to things not on the local network (ie your new VPN ip pool) due to a local firewall, ipchains, whatever on that box. This is the only thing I can think of.
IP is IP and shouldn't react differently due to OS.
