I'm a software engineer, but I'm very new to the server/hosting side of web apps. I have a server set up running Windows 2000 Server. I have my name server and everything set up in the forward lookup. I can successfully ping everything but when I hit the site with a browser I get nothing. I have a Netgear router and I have my DMZ pointing to my server and I have http port forwarding set up to point all the http requests to my server. If someone could help me out I'd a appreciate it,

Thanks

Make sure port 80 is open through your ISP to direct to your router. Ping packets use ICMP which is not on port 80.

Is there anyway I can test if port 80 is open other than calling my ISP?

yea.. put in the IP address as such in the browser to see if it comes up via IP.. if it does then you have a naming issue somewhere

I don't think I have my reverse lookup set up correctly. When I set up my reverse lookup do I need to use the IP that is coming into my house or the local IP that my router assigns to my server. I currently have it set up using the IP coming into my house but it doesn't seem to be working

Thanks

ok, so if my ISP blocks port 80 is there any way I can get around that by changing a setting on my router or something else?

Well, I spent about three hours messing around with IIS last night and my site is working this morning. I'm not sure what I did to fix it but it works. Thanks for your responses.
