Pine and Sendmail

Hello,

I want to configure a nice application for users to send and receive mail using an IMAP server.

Now, it is my understanding that i can use pine to be the UTA ( user transfer agent ) and Sendmail to be the MTA ( message transfer agent )

Since i am very new to solaris, does anyone knows where i can find documentation to implement both ?, i downloaded pine 4.60 for solaris 8 on sparc and i am guessing that i can use the sendmail that comes with solaris 8 right ?

afaik sendmail can not act as an IMAP Server; it can be used to deliver mails to an IMAP Server...

go to

http://www.sendmail.org

and do a local google-search for "IMAP" to get an IMAP Server suggested by sendmail.org

Why not use Postfix, works just as well - better in my opinion - than postfix.

I would take a look at qmail, it's a doddle compared to sendmail.
