Hi,
I need to be able to dial into our pilot number which lands on our BCM, from outside, and be able to transfer to an extension on another system. We have a gateway, and the BCM is connected to the gateway over the E1's. Users on the BCM are able to dial users on the other system, with the calls being routed to the gateway. When i dial the pilot number and then the extension, i get 'you have entered an invalid extension' message.
Appreciate any help.

You have to set up a Private Network and use CDP.

Thanks hawks,
I have the Private Network setup with CDP. Routing to extensions in the BCM work, but where would i configure so it routes to extensions in the other system?

Thanks again.

So you have a Rout marked as Private?
If so then make sure your Voice Mail has access to that rout, also make sure Redirect DN, & Extenal Initialization option are on.

Dont you need MCDN keycode for AA to be able to transfer calls?
Assuming you are AA?

Yes curly but if they're using CDP then they should have that code. without the code you can only use UDP.

Thanks hawks, curly,
i have attached a file with a few screenshots of my config. i hope you can take a look at it. where would i find the routes my voice mail can access, under Active Application DN's, Line Pool Access ?

Thanks. Regards.

Hi Curly,
The Application DN is in Line Pool BlocA. I have pointed the destination digit to a new route that has pool BlocA DN Type Public (Unknown). But it hasn't helped. I cannot find the option to change the DN type to Private.
Thanks.

From your screen shots it don't look like you're using CDP, if you were then one of the routes should have been marked as a PRIVATE ROUTE. If not using CDP then you can set it up for ectension dialing between the 2 sites over Public Routes like you have. But if you want to dial from AA it needs to use CDP on a private route otherwise it will not see the extension as a good number.

Hi Hawks,
I have a second BCM connected over H323 trunks, and I can reach an extension on that BCM from the AA. The trunk is configured as GW type BCM, Protocol CSE.

On that system how is the route set up between the 2, Public or Private? If it's not Private then I'm at a loss because to use CDP you need Private routes and without CDP the AA should not see the other system as legit extensions. Maybe someone can enlighten both fo us if this is not the case.

Hi hawks,
you're right, the route to the other BCM is Private.

Hi Hawks,
Sorry for the delay, i had a tech to come in and work on the issue, but he did not make any changes as it was during our working hours. How can I set the routes to Private, as the PRI's are in that group, blocA?

You can build a new route and just make that rout use blocA also. Make sure that you have your CDP set up. There's alot of good information in
How to set up BCM to BCM Centralized VoiceMail faq1361-6041
