It seems to me that these files .oft (PIF) files are integrated into Office/Exchange. Is this correct? If not can I have the location of these files so I can link it to an INTRANET page. I would like employees to go to our INTRANET page to use this file (create files) instead of going through public folders, PIF folder, action, etc. etc.

I don't understand your question. If you are looking for the location of a file then use Windows Search with Advanced features and choose to search hidden and system folders.

I hope you find this post helpful.

OFT files are simply template files for emails. They exist by default in a users profile but can be stored anywhere.

I still don't understand what you are trying to accomplish though.

If you want to find where your user account is defaulting to save templates, compose an email and choose File SaveAs. Select OFT as the file type and you can then view the default location for OFT files for that user.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Ok, sorry! What I have going here is... Outlook running on an exchange server.

When I go into Outlook... Public Folders... PIF folder... Actions tool... New PIF
it grabs this file which is an. oft file from some location and copies it to my computer. It is personalized one because it has company information on it.

What Im trying to figure out is where it comes from (location) so I can create a link to it on our INTRANET instead of people having to go through that process I showed you above.

I just wanted to know where it came from so if someone does update it differently then going to the INTRANET then there is no worry updating the copy.
